Kelly Harkins Kincaid

Kelly Harkins Kincaid has held a variety of roles in the fields of archaeology and genetics since 2004. Kelly began their career as an Archaeologist at Historical Perspectives, Inc. in 2004. In 2005, they were a U.S. Fulbright Fellow at the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien. Kelly was an Intern and Archaeologist at the American Museum of Natural History in 2004, and an Archaeological Field Supervisor at the Merowe Dam Archaeological Salvage Project in Sudan in 2008. From 2008 to 2014, they were an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and Jacob K Javits Graduate Fellow at Arizona State University. From 2014 to 2017, they were an NSF Postdoctoral Researcher in Paleogenetics at UC Santa Cruz. In 2019, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Astrea Forensics LLC, leveraging ancient DNA technology to empower the field of investigative genetic genealogy. Kelly is currently the Founding CEO of Claret Bioscience.

Kelly Harkins Kincaid began their educational career in 2000 when they attended Skidmore College and earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music and Archaeology in 2004. Kelly then went on to Arizona State University in 2007 to pursue their Master of Arts (MA) in Anthropology (Bioarchaeology), which they completed in 2009. Finally, in 2009 they returned to Arizona State University to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Anthropology (Bioarchaeology) in 2014.
