Sr. Infrastructure Engineer at Clari

Alex Sokolsky's work experience begins with their current role as a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer at Clari, starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an SRE MTS at Samsung SARC | ACL from December 2018 to October 2021.

Before joining Samsung SARC | ACL, Alex served as a Software Engineering Lead at Applied Materials. In this role, they contributed to the adoption of DevOps practices and led distributed teams in developing internal applications to enhance new product development success. Alex held this position from 2016 to 2018.

Prior to their role as Software Engineering Lead, Alex worked as a Technical Lead at Applied Materials from 2012 to 2015.

Alex has extensive managerial experience as well, having served as a Software Engineering Manager at Applied Materials for a decade, from 2001 to 2011. In this role, they managed three engineering teams and established a proprietary CGA software platform as a standard for new company products.

Before joining Applied Materials, they co-founded uRoam in 1998 and served as the CTO.

Alex began their career as a Member of Technical Staff at Netscape Communications in 1996. In this role, they co-developed multimedia products using Java, JMF, JFC, RTP, and RTSP. Alex also played a role in designing the Media Server for NT Platform and the RTSP server reference implementation, as well as contributing to the design of Media Player, Netscape Conferencing, and RTSP.

Alex Sokolsky has a Master of Science degree in Solid State Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT). Alex also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business. In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained several certifications, including Advanced Kubernetes: 1 Core Concepts, Kubernetes: Continuous Delivery with Spinnaker, Functional Programming with Python, Becoming an Inspiring Mentor, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
