Sakura joined Clarion Capital Partners in 2021 after 7 years at CIFC Asset Management, where she was a Managing Director in Investor Solutions responsible for global institutional investor relations and business development. Prior to CIFC, Sakura was at Avenue Capital Group and was responsible for business development, investor relations, and marketing activities in distressed and direct lending strategies, specifically focusing on Japanese institutional investors and North American distribution platforms. Previously, she worked at the Yucaipa Companies, which she joined in 2008 at the founding of its Corporate Governance Fund, and between 2005 to 2008, worked with the same founding partners at Prentice Capital Management.
Sakura graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts with a B.F.A. and B.A. in Film and Television and Economics from New York University, and launched her career with Salomon Smith Barney in Equity Research covering the gaming and lodging industry.
