Joshua Lafave

Director, Graduate Business Programs at Clarkson University

Joshua LaFave has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Joshua started their career as a Human Resource Generalist at The Penn Traffic Company, where they managed union contracts and labor relations. Later, they joined Clarkson University as the Associate Director of Graduate Business Programs, where they focused on academic advising and student life. Joshua also served as the Coordinator of MBA Career Services. After that, Joshua worked at Syracuse University Martin J. Whitman School of Management as the Director of Graduate Enrollment, responsible for recruitment and retention strategies. Joshua then joined SUNY Potsdam as the Director of Center for Graduate Studies and later became the Executive Director of the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education. Finally, Joshua moved to LaFave Consulting and is currently the Director of Graduate Business Programs at Clarkson University. Additionally, they founded GEM Talk!, a communication channel for higher education professionals.

Joshua LaFave has a diverse education history. In 1999-2003, they obtained a BS in Business Administration from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. In 2000-2001, they participated in the Disney World College Program, focusing on leadership and human resource management. Later, in 2003-2004, they pursued an MBA in Leadership and Human Resources at Clarkson University. Joshua continued expanding their knowledge in leadership theory and social and economic change by completing a certificate program at the St. Lawrence County Leadership Institute in 2007-2008. Recently, in 2021-2022, they earned an Advanced Certificate in College Teaching from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.
