Joe Ladeira

Joe Ladeira has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on compliance. Joe is currently the Chief Compliance Officer and Research Supervisor at Clarus Securities.

Joe’s previous experience includes acting as the Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer, and Branch Manager at Byron Capital Markets Ltd. Joe was responsible for ensuring that all employees were properly registered with the National Registration Database and various regulators. Joe also created and developed new account opening documentation, including client agreements, to represent the new entity Byron Capital Markets Ltd.

Joe has also restructured and configured surveillance systems to ensure compliance with the various SRO Rules and international markets as applicable. In addition, they have created a number of databases utilizing Microsoft Access to warehouse key compliance information for management reporting.

As Chief Financial Officer, Joe was responsible for the preparation of all regulatory financial filings and internal financial reporting.

Joe’s experience and dedication to compliance makes him an invaluable asset to Clarus Securities.

Joe Ladeira has a certificate in corporate finance from the Society of Management Accountants, a CFE from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Association for Certified Managed Accountants. Joe also has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Victoria and a business degree from Camosun College. Joe is a Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) from the Chartered Public Accountants of Ontario and has certification from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) in Certificate in Technical Analysis and from the Charted Professional Accountants of Ontario in Chartered Public Accountant.

They are on a team with Robert Orviss - MD, Investment Banking, Tim Sorensen - MD, Institutional Equity Sales, and Tom Monahas - CFO. Joe Ladeira reports to Jim Christodoulis, President & CEO.
