Zitely Tzompa serves as a Research Manager for Methane Pollution Prevention at Clean Air Task Force, focusing on European legislation to mitigate methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral position at Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement, where Zitely analyzed methane emissions across various industries and contributed to emission inventories. Zitely gained legislative experience as a Science Technology Policy Fellow, designing a bill to reduce methane emissions in Colorado, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Colorado State University. Early career projects involved regional climate strategies in Mexico and developing air quality guidelines while serving at Centro Mario Molina and other organizations. Zitely holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Colorado State University and a degree in Environmental Engineering from UAM Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
