Dr. Cara Tobin is a registered engineer with a specialty in hydraulic and environmental engineering. A Stanford and EPFL graduate, Cara has worked with UNDP since 2010 on developing water/energy nexus projects in Africa. She is also an advisor to the Green Climate Fund and advises francophone countries on developing green projects. A successful entrepreneur, Cara created a blended climate finance platform, ClimatePlace, which received awards from Climate-KIC Europe and Slush. Her company works with Development Finance Institutions to structure debt and equity co-investments for renewables projects in emerging economies globally. Previously, Cara was a water engineer and worked with leading consulting firms such as MWH Global and CH2M.
