Darren N. Nesbeth is an accomplished Associate Professor of Synthetic Biology at UCL since August 2010, specializing in cell engineering, virus engineering, and cellular agriculture. As a co-founder and technical adviser at Clean Food Group since October 2021, and previously serving as Chief Scientific Officer at Caviar Biotec from February 2021 to February 2023, Darren has demonstrated expertise in the biotechnology sector. Prior academic experience includes roles as a PDRA at University College London and Imperial College London, focusing on cell engineering for bioprocessing and molecular immunology, respectively. Darren's early career involved research in cell and gene therapy at King's College London and capital markets communication as an account executive for biotechnology IPOs. Educational credentials include a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Molecular Biology from UCL.
