Alp Öktem

Alp Öktem is a seasoned computational linguist and co-founder of Col·lectivaT SCCL, where contributions include consultancy on language technology, digitalization of marginalized languages, and development of integrated solutions for natural language processing tasks such as machine translation and speech recognition. Currently serving as a computational linguist at CLEAR Global, Alp Öktem focuses on developing language technology for humanitarian efforts across multiple languages. A former research assistant at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Alp Öktem completed a PhD in Computational Linguistics and has a proven track record in developing neural models for speech transcription. Previous experience includes roles at Fraunhofer IAIS and TUBITAK, contributing to advancements in speech technology and software development. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Informatics from the University of Bonn and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bilkent University.
