John Sloboda has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and management. John currently serves as an Engineering Manager at Clear Street, where they lead a team responsible for ingesting, managing, and transforming data to fulfill the business needs of the prime brokerage. Prior to their role at Clear Street, John worked as a Lead Software Engineer at the same company.
Before joining Clear Street, John worked at MakeSpace as a Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Manager. During their time there, they worked on various software projects related to pricing, billing, logistics, marketing, and infrastructure. John was also involved in the transition from a monolith server to a service-oriented architecture with microservices.
John also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Perpetua Labs, where they built experimental tools and prototypes and developed ecommerce integrations. At houred, they founded and ran a local business directory, single-handedly managing all aspects of the business and employing and supervising co-op students.
John's career began at blitzen, where they joined as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder. John played a critical role in transforming the company's vision from a submission management platform to automatic workflow integration tools.
Prior to blitzen, John was a Software Engineer at Google. During their tenure, they worked on building experimental ads products and developed a pipeline for product data ingestion and automatic generation of ad creatives. John also trained machine learning models to optimize ad campaign parameters and led the redesign and rewrite of the main HTTP frontend server for display network ad serving.
