Michiel Ten Hoopen

Chief Carbon Investment Officer at ClearBlue Markets

Michiel ten Hoopen has over 20 years of work experience in the field of carbon investment and emissions. Michiel started their career at JIN Climate and Sustainability as a Consultant from 1999 to 2002. Michiel then joined EcoSecurities as a Principal Consultant from 2002 to 2007. After that, they worked as an Associate Director at Barclays Capital in 2007. From 2006 to 2013, they were a Member of CDM Small Scale Working Group at UNFCCC. Michiel then became the Head of Global Emissions at Vattenfall from 2008 to 2015. Currently, they serve as the Chief Carbon Investment Officer at ClearBlue Markets, a position they have held since 2015.

Michiel ten Hoopen completed their education with a Master's degree in Economics and International Law from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 1994 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended Christelijk College Nassau Veluwe from 1989 to 1994. In 1988 to 1989, they attended Erasmiaans gymnasium.
