Federico Tomassetti

Federico Tomassetti has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Federico co-founded Strumenta in 2017 to offer consulting services in the Software Language Engineering field, where they build various software tools. In 2019, they co-founded Clearbox AI and held multiple roles as a software engineering advisor, software architect, and CTO until 2022. Federico worked as a self-employed software architect consultant from 2015 to 2017, specializing in developing Domain Specific Languages (DSLs) and Model Driven Development (MDD) solutions. Prior to that, they worked as a software engineering consultant at Luminem SRLs and a software development engineer at Groupon. Federico has also worked at TripAdvisor as a software engineer and at Sistemi as a part-time consultant for the DSL re-engineering process. Federico gained research experience as a research assistant at Politecnico di Torino and as a visiting PhD student at Fortiss. Federico also worked briefly as an EMF Tutor at Mainline. Throughout their career, Federico has gained expertise in a wide range of technologies and has experience in full-stack development, architecture design, and project management.

Federico Tomassetti obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Torino between 2001 and 2006. Federico then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, graduating in 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they engaged in an Erasmus program at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for two semesters, studying Informatiks. Federico continued their education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Software Engineering at Politecnico di Torino from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, they completed their secondary education at Liceo Darwin, where they achieved a Maturità scientifica in 2001.
