Michael Xiao

Michael Xiao has a diverse work history in data science and analytics. Michael'smost recent role is as the Head of Data Science and Analytics at Clearcover since April 2021. Previously, they worked as a Lecturer at the University of Chicago starting in July 2020. Prior to that, Michael held various positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas. Michael was the Divisional Vice President of Enterprise Data Science from July 2018 to April 2021. Michael also served as a Senior Director & Actuary, Director & Actuary in Provider & Network Data Science. Before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Michael worked at Aetna as a Senior Manager in Data Science and Actuarial Manager. Michael'searliest work experience was as an Independent Filmmaker.

Michael Xiao completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics, Film & Television Studies Modified with Computer Science from Dartmouth College between 2002 and 2006. Michael Xiao completed their high school education at Groton School from 1998 to 2002. In addition, they obtained various certifications including being a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst from different institutions in the years 2012 to 2014.
