Ilias Kostas has worked in a variety of roles since 2011. Ilias began their career as an Artillery Private in the Greek Army, where they were responsible for military communications and learned to operate artillery communication systems and become familiar with military cryptography systems. In 2015, they worked as a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at Fokker Technologies Holding B.V., where they completed a basic MSC ADAMS training and created multibody models from scratch. In 2016, they worked as a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at Ford Motor Company, where they completed a Master Thesis on Tire-Road friction estimation using steering torque information. In 2017, they worked as a Suspension Controls Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, where they created MatLab/Simulink models to be used in the suspension controller module. In 2019, they worked as a Senior Vehicle Dynamics and Controls Engineer at ARRIVAL, where they worked on steering by wire and braking by wire projects and wrote system and software requirements with accordance to functional safety ISO26262. In 2021, they worked as a Lead Vehicle Dynamics and Controls Engineer at Eatron Technologies, where they led the semi-active suspension control activities, and did systems engineering software development. Currently, they are a Principal Controls Engineer at ClearMotion.

Ilias Kostas has an extensive education history. Ilias obtained a Dipl. Eng. (B.Sc + M.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) between 2003 and 2010. In 2013, they began a Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, which they completed in 2016. In 2017, they took a Master Level Module in Kalman Filter and its Applications at Coventry University. In 2018, they took Master Level Modules in Embedded Automotive Control Systems at Cranfield University and Robust Automotive Electronics at the University of Warwick. In 2020, they completed an On-line Nanodegree in Intro to Self-Driving Cars at Udacity. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Writing User Subroutines in MSC.Adams/Solver from In Summa in 2015 and a Certificate of Competency in English from THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN.
