Sanjay Mukhopadhyay

Sanjay Mukhopadhyay is a highly experienced pathologist with a strong focus on pulmonary pathology. Currently serving as a Staff Pathologist in the Department of Anatomic Pathology at Cleveland Clinic since July 2013, responsibilities include diagnostic sign-out and education of residents and fellows, as well as engaging in research. Sanjay directed the pulmonary pathology group at Cleveland Clinic for 4.5 years, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic and vaping crisis. Prior experience includes Associate Professor and attending pathologist at SUNY Upstate Medical University, involvement in challenging case consultation and education, and a fellowship at Mayo Clinic specializing in pulmonary pathology. Sanjay completed residency training in pathology at SUNY Upstate Medical University and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, achieving board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. An MBBS degree was earned from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi.
