Sonya Pease, MD, MBA, CPXP, FASA, currently serves as the Chief Quality, Safety and Patient Experience Officer at Cleveland Clinic Florida since June 2019. With extensive experience in the field, Pease has been an active committee member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists® since 2004, focusing on MACRA payment reforms and alternative practice models. Previously, from 2008 to 2019, Pease held the position of National Chief Clinical Officer/Chief Medical Officer for the Anesthesiology Division at TeamHealth, where responsibilities included overseeing patient quality and safety across numerous health care organizations. Additional leadership roles include Chair of the Investigational Review Board at Martin Memorial Health Systems and Owner & Chair of Anesthesiology at Anesthesia and Critical Care Specialist, LLC, where Pease led a private practice group providing anesthesia services while coordinating multiple large-scale research projects. Pease holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee, a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, a Master of Medical Science in Anesthesia from Emory University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida.
