George Schultze

George Schultze is the founder and managing member of Schultze Asset Management, L.P. (“SAM”), where he chairs the firm’s investment and strategy committees. Since its founding, SAM has executed over USD7.4 billion in total investment transactions. With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, he is widely recognized as an expert on event-driven and special situations investing. Before founding SAM, Mr. Schultze held various roles at MD Sass, Fiduciary Partners fund of funds, the Mayer Brown & Platt law firm, and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Schultze is widely recognized and is the author of The Art of Vulture Investing published by Wiley Finance. He received his BA in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers College and is a joint graduate of Columbia Business School and Columbia Law School, JD/MBA. He founded the Columbia Law School Investment Club and served as editor for the Columbia Business Law Review. Since founding SAM in 1998, Mr. Schultze has served on over 35 boards of directors and various committees. Apart from Clever Leaves, Mr. Schultze currently serves on the following board and committees: Tropicana, Schultze Foundation, and Schultze Special Purpose Acquisition Corp. II.
