Lorenzo Masetti

Senior Systems Architect at Cleverdist

Lorenzo Masetti has significant experience in the field of systems architecture and control software development. Lorenzo worked at Cleverdist as a Senior Systems Architect since 2017. Prior to that, they had a long tenure at CERN, where they held several roles. From 2011 to 2016, they served as the Experiment Control System Senior Architect, where they designed and developed a software system for protecting the CMS subdetectors. Lorenzo also provided support to the CMS DCS developer community and implemented web-based applications for accessing control system information. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Control Software Engineer, enhancing tools for experiment operation and deploying the LHC/CMS interface. From 2006 to 2009, they served as a Control Software Development engineer, designing and developing the CMS Tracker Control System and implementing interfaces with hardware devices.

Lorenzo Masetti has an extensive education history in the field of Computer Science. Lorenzo first attended Università degli Studi di Firenze from 1998 to 2005, where they obtained a Master's degree. Lorenzo then continued their studies at Heidelberg University from 2008 to 2011, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

In addition to their degrees, Lorenzo Masetti also has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In October 2014, they received the SIMATIC S7 (ST-PRO1) certification from SIEMENS Suisse. In February 2013, they became a SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture Certified Engineer through ETM professional control GmbH. Furthermore, in November 2011, Lorenzo obtained the Oracle BEA WebLogic Server 10/11 certification, although the institution granting this certification is unspecified.
