James Chi has a diverse work experience that spans several companies and roles. James began their career as an Ecommerce Specialist at Yahoo! Inc., where they designed page content and layouts for online marketing events. James then moved on to Rock Mobile Corp., where they served as a Junior Product Manager and managed the development and shipment of an enterprise Saas platform. Following this, James worked as a UI/UX Design Intern at Contribulet Inc., where they designed a minimum-viable-product for a fundraising solution.
Continuing their growth in the field, James joined UXTerps - The first UX student organization @ UMD as the Founder / CEO, taking leadership in the organization. James further honed their skills as a Product Designer at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, where they conducted user research and testing, translated insights into concept prototypes, and iterated on UI/UX solutions.
Most recently, James joined Click Therapeutics, Inc. as a Junior Product Designer and later transitioned into the role of Product Designer. Throughout their work experience, James has demonstrated a strong ability to analyze user data, develop product strategies, create high-fidelity UI mockups, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
James Chi completed their Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing Communication, Strategic Planning, and Digital Marketing from National Chengchi University, where they attended from 2007 to 2011.
In addition to their formal education, James also obtained a certification in Designing AI Products and Services from MIT xPRO in October 2021.
