James Richardson currently serves as the Acting Chief Executive at the Climate Change Committee, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this role, James was the Chief Economist at the National Infrastructure Commission from March 2016 to July 2023, and held the position of Director for both Fiscal and Public Spending at HM Treasury between September 2008 and March 2016. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics and a Master's degree in Economics, both obtained from The London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford.
