Jamie Tarlton is an accomplished professional in the field of carbon management and energy analysis, currently serving as a Senior Analyst for Carbon Budgets at the Climate Change Committee since January 2022. Prior to this role, Jamie held various analytical positions at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, focusing on carbon capture and storage and whole systems energy modeling. Jamie's experience also includes work as an Analyst in finance at the Ministry of Justice UK, a Human Rights Monitor with EAPPI UK & Ireland, and a Schuman Trainee at the European Parliament. Educational credentials include a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London, alongside MRes and MPhys degrees in Physics from the same institution and the University of Oxford, respectively. Notable research placements include roles at prestigious organizations such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and CERN.
Climate Change Committee
The Climate Change Committee (CCC) is an independent, statutory body established under the Climate Change Act 2008. Our purpose is to advise the UK Government and Devolved Administrations on emissions targets and report to Parliament on progress made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for climate change.
