Sarah Gao

Sarah Gao is an experienced interdisciplinary data scientist currently working with the U.S. Geological Survey since February 2023. Additionally, Sarah serves as an organizer for Climate Changemakers and holds the position of product designer at InstaSecure. Sarah has been a science fellow at Midstory since May 2021 and previously contributed to the California Academy of Sciences as an illustrator, developing a children's coloring book for educational outreach in São Tomé and Príncipe. Sarah's background includes a role as a teaching assistant at the University of San Francisco and experience in various design positions at notable companies such as Google and DoorDash. Sarah holds a Master of Science in Biology from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Humanities and Arts in Industrial Design and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University.
