Daniel Palmer has a diverse range of work experience in the energy and technology sectors. Daniel has held various positions at different companies throughout their career. Daniel started at Schlumberger in 1992 as a field engineer, performing oil and gas activities in challenging environments. Daniel then took on roles such as global cased hole business development and field service manager. In 2003, they became the Alaska Oilfield Services Marketing Manager before moving up to the position of North Sea Wireline Operations Manager.
In 2010, Daniel transitioned to the role of Technology and Marketing Manager, Wireline, where they were responsible for research, product development, and the technology portfolio. Daniel also oversaw M&A activity, including the acquisition of ThruBit LLC. Daniel later became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing Middle East for Schlumberger before deciding to shift their focus to climate change and decarbonization.
Daniel joined GlassPoint Solar in 2013 as the Vice President of Sales, leading the development of large-scale solar projects in the Gulf region. Daniel then became the Chief Operating Officer of DataCloud in 2018, focusing on developing IoT sensors and directing field operations for the mining industry. Daniel also served as Director & Investor at EnergyField, Solar Inc., providing solar energy solutions to California's Oil and Gas Industry.
In 2019, Daniel joined Climate Investment (CI) as the Deployment Manager, working on accelerating the growth and GHG impact of portfolio companies. Daniel later became the Commercialization Director, focusing on scaling up portfolio technologies and reducing methane emissions. Currently, Daniel is the Managing Director, Commercialization (Energy Sector) at CI, leading the commercialization support of their portfolio companies.
Daniel also serves as a Board Observer for Kairos Aerospace and SensorUp Inc. In 2023, they will also become a Board Member at Qnergy.
Daniel Palmer completed their MSc in Engineering at the University of Cambridge from 1988 to 1991. Furthermore, they pursued a field of study in Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University between 2002 and 2003.
