Serge de Gheldere

Serge de Gheldere is the CEO of Futureproofed, part of Sweco, with a focus on promoting a fossil-free and circular economy through motivational speaking. Since 2006, Serge has served as a Climate Ambassador for Al Gore, delivering over 120 presentations based on “An Inconvenient Truth.” As a co-founder and vice-president of Leuven 2030 from 2017 to 2021, Serge played a key role in guiding a coalition toward carbon neutrality, contributing to Leuven's recognition as the 2020 European Capital of Innovation. Prior experience includes board membership at Groep T International University College, guest professorships at Groep T, Stanford University, and Yale University, and product development engineering at Baxter R&D Europe. Serge holds multiple degrees in Polymer and Composites Engineering and Electromechanical Engineering from KU Leuven, Delft University of Technology, and Groep T Leuven.
