Trang leads Climateworks Centre’s Southeast Asia team, contributing to their regional strategy and engagement in the region. The Southeast Asia team works with stakeholders in Australia and Southeast Asia to scale up climate ambitions across areas including decarbonisation pathways, climate finance, energy transition and nature based solutions.
Trang came to Climateworks from the Victorian Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, where she worked on the planning and review of fiscal policies for the state’s resources sector. Before moving to Australia, Trang spent six years working for the United Kingdom Government, leading a team to deliver advocacy campaigns and programs to drive transformational changes in sustainability and social inclusion in Vietnam. Her work covered a range of climate adaptation and mitigation programs including energy transition, green finance, sustainable infrastructure, and biodiversity. She also led the business planning, design, and implementation of the UK Government’s economic and development strategy in Vietnam and worked closely with colleagues across Southeast Asia and across government ministries in the UK to secure funding and partnership in climate action. As part of the COP26 policy advocacy campaign, Trang worked alongside a network of development partners, NGOs, and development banks to secure Vietnam’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050. Prior to working for the UK government, Trang worked in various roles in auditing, compliance, and program management for KPMG, ANZ Bank, and the German Government’s development organization (GIZ).
Trang has a Master's in Banking and Finance from the University of Nottingham, UK, awarded with the university’s Business School and ASEAN scholarships. She also holds a Bachelor of Economics from Vietnam’s Foreign Trade University.
