Dr. James Whelan is a seasoned researcher and advocate in the field of air quality, with extensive experience in environmental policy and community engagement. Currently serving as the Senior Project Manager (Research) at Climateworks Centre since July 2023, James has also held the position of Director at The Change Agency since January 2004, focusing on social movement education and strategy. Previous roles include Climate Strategist at Climate Action Network Australia and Researcher and Community Organiser at Environmental Justice Australia, where James contributed significantly to the development of national environmental measures in the 1990s. With a rich academic background, including a PhD from Griffith University, James has facilitated various courses at several universities, specializing in social change and environmental education.
