Hessam Lavi

Hessam Lavi has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Hessam is the Founder and CEO of Climatiq since 2021, where they developed an embedded carbon intelligence solution for SaaS companies. In 2011, they founded BerlinStartupJobs.com, the leading platform for inspiring jobs in Berlin. From 2017 to 2020, they served as the Director of Product and Managing Director at SmartRecruiters. Prior to that, they were the Founder and CEO of Jobspotting, which was later acquired by SmartRecruiters. At Jobspotting, they developed a personalized job matching engine powered by machine learning and Semantic Analysis technology. Before entering the startup world, Hessam Lavi worked at Google as a Teamlead in Search Quality, specializing in web search and combating webspam and blackhat SEO. Hessam also gained research experience at IKEA Communications. Additionally, they have provided freelance services in user growth strategies for various digital companies, including Etsy, Tetra Pak, and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

Hessam Lavi completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science / Cognitive Science from Lund University, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. In addition, they pursued another Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, attending from 2003 to 2004.
