Andrew Thompson is a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer currently at Climax Portable Machine Tools, a position held since April 2004. Previously, Andrew worked as an Engineer at Emmert International, where responsibilities included designing heavy transport and lift plans, and as a Maintenance Engineer at both SGL Carbon Group and Port Townsend Paper Corporation, overseeing apprenticeship programs and managing plant shutdowns. Earlier in Andrew's career, a role as Mills Engineer at Seattle Steel/Bethlehem Steel involved designing equipment for in-plant use. Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, obtained in 1979.
