Daniel Tam

Chief Architect at Clipsal Cortex

Daniel Tam has a diverse work experience in the engineering and renewable energy sectors. Daniel started their career as an intern at Downer EDI Engineering Pty Limited and SMA Australia in 2014 and 2015 respectively. In 2016, they worked as a Solar Installer/Energy Efficiency Engineer at Autonomous Energy and as a Laboratory Demonstrator at UNSW Australia. Daniel then moved on to roles as a PV Engineer at Solar Analytics in 2017 and as a Renewable Energy Engineer at Global Green Growth Institute in 2018. In the same year, they also worked as a Business Development & Software Engineering professional at Wattwatchers - Digital Energy. From 2018 to 2019, they were an Undergraduate Research Scholar (Energy) at CSIRO. Most recently, they have been with Clipsal Solar, first serving as a Lead Developer from 2019 to 2022, and currently as the Head Of Engineering.

Daniel Tam completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and Bachelor of Computer Science degrees with a focus on Photovoltaics and Solar Energy at UNSW from 2014 to 2019. Daniel also participated in an International Exchange Program at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2017-2018, where they pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science degree. Additionally, in 2016-2017, Daniel took part in another International Exchange Program at Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, focusing on Photovoltaics & Solar Energy Engineering.
