Ryan Cruz

Ryan Cruz, CEM has held various roles in the energy industry since 2010. In 2010, they were an intern at FLEXcon, where they entered and analyzed work order data into the computer using MS Office Excel and the Vax Operating System. Ryan also created spreadsheets and graphs to aid in plant efficiency, and processed and released work orders based on material availability. In 2012, they were an undergraduate research assistant at Boston University, where they assisted in the development of software tools to help optimize HVAC systems, and performed experiments regarding airflow and temperature. Ryan also conducted electrical analysis between HVAC energy use and total electrical use of the building. In the same year, they were a stress/structural intern at Babcock Power, where they used STAAD to build and weigh the truss work of past projects. The collected data was used to revise the existing standards for estimating steel weight for future projects during the proposal stage. In 2013, they joined Clockworks Analytics as the Director of Onboarding Operations, where they ensured that the company provided the most efficient customer onboarding experience onto Clockworks. Ryan also grew, developed, and led the implementation team, and fostered a culture and onboarding process that awed customers and helped them realize value out of Clockworks from day one. Ryan also held the role of Onboarding Manager at Clockworks Analytics, as well as Lead Building Analyst, where they connected a wide range and complexity of buildings to the company's fault detection and diagnostics software.

Ryan Cruz obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an Energy Technologies Concentration from Boston University in 2013. In 2011, they also completed a Study Abroad program in Engineering at Technische Universität Dresden. In addition, they are a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers.
