Michael Alter

Michael Alter is an accomplished executive in the wine industry, currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Alter Ego Advisory since September 2019 and as Chairman and Operating Partner at Clos du Val Wine Co. since December 2020. Michael has also held significant roles at Taltarni Vineyards / Clover Hill Wines and Huneeus Vintners, where as President, leadership contributed to substantial business growth and transformation. Prior experience includes strategic roles at Treasury Wine Estates and Booz & Company, where strategic consultancy expertise was applied across various industries. Michael holds an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's in Oenology from the University of Adelaide, and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
