Sridhar Ramaswamy has a long and impressive career trajectory in the software engineering field. In 1996, they began their career as a Member of Technical Staff at Oracle Corporation, where they designed and developed a scripting language interpreter and grammar engine. Sridhar then moved on to become a Senior Member of Technical Staff, working on Oracle Middleware Products, and optimizing Oracle Applications and Oracle Developer 2000 for Intel Unix OS variants.
In 2000, Sridhar joined Cisco Systems as a Technical Leader, working on Cisco Virtual Router CSR1000V integration with Prime Network Services Controller and CSR RESTapi framework, developing Cisco Cloud Connectors, and creating a Linux-based Consumer Networking OS distro for Cisco Home Networking Products (Linksys). Sridhar was then promoted to Senior Software Engineer and Senior Technical Leader.
In 2014, Sridhar left Cisco to join Vyatta, a Brocade Company, as a Principal Software Engineer. Sridhar led the NFV Orchestration efforts within Brocade and created OpenStack Tacker project, to build out an opensource NFV Orchestrator (NFVO) and Generic VNF Manager (G-VNFM). Sridhar also participated in multiple standards and development organizations like OpenStack, OPNFV, OASIS TOSCA, ETSI and IETF.
In 2015, Sridhar joined OpenStack as a Project Team Lead / Core Contributor, OpenStack Tacker. Sridhar was a founding member of OpenStack Tacker project for NFV Orchestration and led and grew the Tacker opensource community over multiple OpenStack releases as a Project Technical Lead (PTL).
In 2017, Sridhar moved on to become a Principal Software Engineer at Cisco, leading the architecture, design, and development of Cisco Enterprise Blockchain platform. Sridhar shaped the product features by closely working with the Product Management team and prospective Customers, and presented the platform and the solution in AWS re:Invent 2018 and Cisco Live 2019.
In 2019, Sridhar joined Volterra as a Senior Software Engineer, working on Volterra's Cloud Native Security SaaS infrastructure backed by Kubernetes across AWS, Azure and GCP.
In 2021, Sridhar joined F5 as a Senior Manager, leading a high-impact team to deliver Infrastructure Security for F5 Distributed Cloud. Sridhar delivered and maintained essential security microservices, provided technical and management leadership in developing the software architecture, and planned and delivered critical infrastructure security features.
Finally, in 2022, Sridhar became Co-Founder and Head of Engineering at Cloud Defense, introducing a revolutionary approach to uncover and protect sensitive cloud data from modern ransomware attacks.
Sridhar Ramaswamy completed a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University and College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai. In 2013, they also completed an Engineering Leadership Professional Program from the University of California, Berkeley.
