Ray Irwin has diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ray started their career in 1976 as a Floor Manager/Projectionist at Roxy Theatre. Ray then served in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician/Reactor Operator from 1978 to 1985. Following their military service, they worked at Computer Sciences Corporation as an Electronics Technician from 1986 to 1987. Ray then joined Micron Technology as a Senior Support Technician from 1988 to 1992, where they also performed as a Process Engineer. From 1992 to 2001, they were the Sole Proprietor of Irwin Consulting-Boise, offering network and software analysis services, HSIA installation and configuration, self-service checkout system installation and calibration, and Cadkey drafting services. Ray later worked at the State of Idaho Secretary of State office as a Senior Network Administrator from 1997 to 2000. Ray then worked at Core Communications as a Senior Field Engineer from 2002 to 2006. After that, they joined Swisscom North America Inc as a Senior Network Engineer from 2006 to 2013. Most recently, they have been working at Irwin Consulting as a Senior Network Engineer since 2013, specializing in wired and wireless network design and installation for HSIA in the hospitality industry. In 2019, they also took on the role of Sales Engineer at Cloud5 Communications.
Ray Irwin's education history includes a high school diploma from Coquille High School, which was obtained from 1975 to 1979. After completing high school, Ray enrolled in the US Navy Electronics "A" School, where they earned a certificate in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician from 1979 to 1980. Subsequently, they attended the US Navy Nuclear Power School from 1980 to 1981 and received a certificate in Nuclear/Nuclear Power Technology/Technician. Finally, in 1981, Ray obtained another certificate in the same field of study, Nuclear/Nuclear Power Technology/Technician, from the US Navy Nuclear Power Prototype.
