Dan Foody has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in the technology industry. Dan began their career at Actional Corp. in 1998, where they served as the CTO. During their time there, they led the company's strategic product direction, evangelism efforts, and patent portfolio. Dan also managed the technical relationship with strategic OEM licensees. Dan played a significant role in establishing Actional as one of the leaders in Forrester's SOA and Web Services Management market analysis.

In 2006, Dan moved to Progress Software, where they held multiple positions. Dan started as the CTO for Sonic and Actional, leading evangelism and advanced R&D efforts. Under their leadership, Sonic ESB was recognized as one of the top three ESB products by Forrester. Later, as the VP of Actional Products, Dan owned the overall P&L of the Actional product unit. Dan restructured the go-to-market strategy to focus on on-demand/SaaS solutions, resulting in improved sales performance.

From 2010 to 2011, Dan served as the VP of Product Management for Progress Software's Enterprise Business Solutions Division. In this role, they led the product management organization across all EBS product lines and drove corporate-wide standardization of product lifecycles. Dan also defined and executed a strategy to consolidate and integrate overlapping and complementary product lines.

In 2011, Dan founded Cloze, where they currently serve as the CEO.

Dan Foody pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering at Cornell University. The duration of their studies and the date of completion are not specified.
