Dan Parkinson has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Dan started their career as a Head of Physical Activity at Holy Family Primary School, where they were responsible for all curriculum physical education activity. Dan then worked as a Community Sports Coach at Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, focusing on community engagement programs and holding multiple coaching qualifications.
In 2011, Dan took on various roles at The Rugby Football League, including North West Youth Volunteer Coordinator, North West Regional Development Officer, North West Regional Manager, and National Play Touch Rugby League Manager. Dan managed and supported league officers and match officials, and implemented strategies to maximize rugby league opportunities in the region.
Dan also worked as a Sydney Development Manager at the National Rugby League, and as a Consultant at NRL Touch Football. Dan had a brief role as Volunteer Manager for the Rugby League World Cup in 2013.
From 2009 to 2011, Dan served as an Associate Lecturer at The Manchester Metropolitan University, and in 2011, they were seconded as a Sydney Development Manager at the National Rugby League.
Dan joined England Athletics in 2015 and held various positions, including Product Development Manager, Participation Programmes Manager, Qualified Run Leader, and Head of Participation Programmes. Dan played a key role in developing and managing participation programmes.
In 2019, Dan joined the England Touch Association as a Non-Executive Director, contributing to the strategic direction of the organization. Dan is currently working as the Regional Director, EMEA at ClubSpark, overseeing operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
