Dya Carranza has extensive experience in governance and legislative processes, currently serving as Governance Coordinator at the California Medical Association since June 2018, where responsibilities include summarizing proposed regulations, administering policy operations, and writing Board reports. Previously held roles include Research Associate in the Strategic Engagement Center and Legal Affairs Center at the same organization, focusing on policy review and legal inquiries related to California health law. Dya's experience also includes a stint as a Legislative Intern for the California State Assembly, where tasks involved researching bills, summarizing committee hearings, and engaging with lobbying groups, as well as a Congressional Internship with the U.S. House of Representatives that involved constituent communication and administrative support. Dya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
