John McKinlay

John McKinlay is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as Senior Director and Associate General Counsel at CME Group since June 2022. Previously, John held the position of Executive Principal and Associate General Counsel at OCC - The Options Clearing Corporation from October 2021 to June 2022, and served as Director and Assistant General Counsel at CME Group from August 2012 to September 2021, focusing on clearing, exchange, swap execution, and international regulatory matters. John’s legal experience also includes roles as a Certified Legal Intern and a Law Clerk, along with summer associate experience at DLA Piper. Academic qualifications include a J.D. cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a B.A. in Studio Art from Indiana University Bloomington, complemented by previous teaching positions in Japan.
