Alan Burns

Alan Burns is an experienced research analyst currently employed at CNA since November 2011, where analysis and research for U.S. interests are key responsibilities. Prior experience includes a role as Bridge Award Fellow at The National Bureau of Asian Research, focusing on policy-relevant research in Asian politics and security, and an internship at the U.S. Department of Energy providing research support in international affairs. In earlier roles, Alan served as a rapporteur for military war games at BAE Systems and analyzed free trade agreements at DTB Associates, LLP. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Certificate in Mandarin Chinese from Tsinghua University.
