Valerie Schmidt

Valerie Schmidt is an experienced legal professional currently serving as the Underwriting Consulting Director at CNA Insurance since April 2020. Previously, Valerie held the position of Partner at Mendes & Mount LLP from September 2008 to April 2020, where responsibilities included providing strategic counsel on various liability claims, analyzing and resolving claims through negotiation and trial, assessing policy coverage, and conducting audits for reinsurers. Valerie also supervised and mentored junior staff and contributed pro bono legal services to individuals in need. Valerie holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from St. John's University and a Bachelor of Science in Management & Finance from Binghamton University.
