Ian Cooper

Ian Cooper has extensive work experience in various roles within the corporate venture capital and technology sectors. Ian is currently serving as the Managing Director and Head of Corporate Venture Capital Europe at National Grid since September 2018. In addition, they hold positions as a Board Director at Sensat since March 2022, a Board Observer at Risilience since October 2021, a Board Observer at Panaseer since April 2021, and a Board Director at CNIguard since January 2020. Previously, Ian worked as a Board Observer at Audio Analytic from June 2019 to November 2021.

Prior to their roles in the technology sector, Ian served as the Chief Operating Officer at Ardent Capital in 2015, where they were responsible for overseeing venture investments and portfolio management, as well as implementing operational processes and assisting in the growth and financing of portfolio companies. Ian also held positions as a Board Director at Bizzy Indonesia and Snapcart from March 2015 to June 2015.

Earlier in their career, Ian served as a Board Director at Tobii Technology, a leading eye-gaze tracking company, from March 2012 to January 2015. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in the company's acquisition of Dynavox Systems LLC and its preparation for IPO. This diverse range of experiences showcases Ian's expertise in venture capital, corporate strategy, and governance processes within the technology industry.

Ian Cooper's education history includes an MBA degree from HEC Paris. Ian also holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, as well as a BSc degree in Computer Science and Psychology, also from the University of Cape Town.
