Co-op Power
Michael J Pattavina is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in energy sustainability and community development. Currently serving as an Adjunct Faculty member at Greenfield Community College since August 2018 and as an Outreach Coordinator for Co-op Power since September 2016, Pattavina promotes biodiesel initiatives and community energy programs while advocating for the transition away from fossil fuels. Previous roles include serving as Energy and Sustainability Manager in West Springfield, MA, and as a Researcher with UMASS Clean Energy Extension Service, focusing on energy reduction strategies. Pattavina also has a background in emergency preparedness planning and waste management, having authored the Disaster Debris Management Plan for Franklin County and managed recycling and hazardous waste programs in Springfield, Massachusetts. Educational qualifications include a Master of Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a concentration in waste management, and a degree in Renewable Energy and Efficiency from Greenfield Community College.
