James Barben

James Barben currently serves as a Panel Member for the NSW Royalties for Rejuvenation Expert Panel since November 2022 and as a Non-Executive Director at Coal Services Pty Limited since August 2021. In this role, James contributes to various initiatives including the Coal Mines Insurance workers compensation scheme, health surveillance through Coal Services Health, and rescue training services with Mines Rescue. Additionally, James has held positions as Director Policy and Policy Manager at the NSW Minerals Council since March 2017 and previously worked as Approvals Coordinator at Ashton Coal Operations Pty Ltd from September 2013 to August 2017 and Environment and Community Manager at Xstrata Coal NSW from August 2007 to September 2013. James completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in late 2022 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Management from the University of Newcastle.
