Sara Coutinho has a diverse work experience in the field of design and development. Sara started their career as a Contract UX/UI Designer & Front-end Developer in 2012, working with various design agencies and software development companies in New Zealand. Their roles included pure design, development, and a combination of both.
In 2016, Sara worked as a Contract Digital Designer for WhereScape, focusing on UX/UI design for their cloud-based product. Sara then moved on to work as a Contract UX/UI Designer for Trimble Inc. in 2019, where they were responsible for the entire design side of their geospatial portfolio.
Sara also has experience in non-profit work, having worked as a UX/UI Designer for the Book Discussion Scheme in 2021, helping relaunch their existing website. Sara also contributed as a Visualisation Designer and Developer for Verum Group in the same year, developing interactive visualizations for bird identification through their songs.
In 2022, Sara joined Koordinates as a Senior Product Designer, where they designed a new plugin for QGIS and made information architecture improvements to their data management platform. Sara later became a Senior Geospatial Product Designer at the same company in 2023.
Sara's most recent role is as a Technical Product Designer at Coalesce.io, which they started in 2023.
Additionally, they have also been involved in The Cacophony Project, contributing as a User Experience Designer to improve the web interface for collaborators.
