Mark Smith

Mark Smith is an accomplished professional specializing in application security, currently serving as the Director of Application Security at Coalfire since January 2022, after previously holding the position of Application Security Senior Manager. With over a decade of experience at Denim Group, Mark has engaged in multiple roles including architect, development lead, and software tester, leading application security initiatives in sectors such as banking and e-commerce. Prior experience includes a project lead role at Sierra Nevada Corporation, where Mark designed the Combat ID system for anomaly detection, and a software developer co-op position at Georgia Tech Research Institute focused on the HAWK air defense system. Mark holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio and dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Music Performance from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
