Daniel Alpert is a distinguished professional in financial macroeconomics and law, currently serving as a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Cornell Law School since February 2018, focusing on the regulation of financial institutions and markets. As the Founding Managing Partner of Westwood Capital, LLC since April 1995, Daniel emphasizes providing customized solutions in capital markets rather than conventional financial product sales. In addition, Daniel contributes as an Economic Advisor to the Coalition for a Prosperous America, advising on trade policy since January 2016, and previously held a Fellowship in Economics at The Century Foundation from January 2012 to February 2018. Daniel's career began in senior roles in investment banking, including a position as Senior Vice President at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., where oversight of real estate investment banking occurred. Daniel earned a BS in Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania between 1976 and 1980.
