Karan Dasgupta

Karan Dasgupta is an experienced economic professional currently serving as an Economic Advisor (acting) and Senior Economic Analyst at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand since February 2021. Karan has developed policy-critical models, implemented evaluation frameworks, and conducted macroeconomic research with a focus on central banking topics. Previously, Karan held various roles including Economic Analyst, Statistical Analyst, and Data Science Research Assistant, contributing to projects involving econometric modeling, data collection, and network analysis. Karan also has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland for both Economics and Physics courses. Karan holds a Master of Commerce (Hons) in Economics, along with dual Bachelor's degrees in Commerce and Science from the University of Auckland.
