Jon Toomey

SVP, Government Relations at Coalition for a Prosperous America

Jon Toomey is the Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Coalition for a Prosperous America. He was formerly legislative counsel for a congressman on the House Ways & Means Committee. He also established the Washington DC government relations office for a mid-sized US manufacturing company.

Jon helps to develop innovative and comprehensive strategies to achieve CPA member objectives. Jon manages all facets of issue campaigns including building and leading teams to undertake lobbying, and communications. He maintains a strong network on Capitol Hill and in the administration and closely monitors the ever-evolving political landscape in order to better advance CPA’s goal to establish a national trade, tax and economic strategy.

Jon builds and engages with coalitions of domestic producers and Washington think-tanks to the administration regarding domestic manufacturing and trade policy.

He works with media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and Bloomberg to get CPA’s message out to the general public. In addition, his commentaries have been featured in RealClearPolitics, The Epoch Times, RealClearPolicy, and Rematec.

Jon has earned his B.A. from Arcadia University as well as receiving his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. He has extensive expertise in Tax & Trade Policy and Regulation, Circular Economy and Remanufacturing, Transportation Policy, Energy and Environment Policy, and Healthcare Policy.
