Max Goetschel

Max Goetschel is a Senior Research Scientist at Coalition, Inc. since September 2023, focusing on developing tools and models for predicting cyber attacks at the firm level. Prior experience includes serving as a Machine Learning Engineer in User Fraud at Spotify from March 2020 to September 2023, where statistical techniques and machine learning were employed to identify fraudulent users. Max's background also features a role as Senior Associate in Data Science at Sony, managing the transition of a cross-company data lake to AWS, and as a Senior Analyst at Hamilton Place Strategies, delivering policy consulting for energy, telecoms, and private equity clients. Earlier internships include positions at the Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Trade Representative, Carnegie Mellon University, and the City of Pittsburgh. Max holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Decision Science and International Relations & Politics from Carnegie Mellon University, completed in 2016.
