Tim Popp, PhD

Tim Popp, PhD has worked as the Head of Company Operations at Coast Energy since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as Director of Product Strategy and Innovation at IPT Global from February to April 2021. In 2020, they worked as a Private Equity Intern at Crosstimbers Capital Group. Tim spent eight years working at Baker Hughes in various roles including Product Manager - Data Analytics, Project Manager, and Lead Mechanical Engineer. Tim also worked as a Research Intern at National Renewable Energy Laboratory from 2010 to 2012 and as an Engineering Intern at Crom, LLC in 2009.

Tim Popp, PhD received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2011. Tim then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Rice University in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2020. Along with their formal education, Tim also obtained additional certifications including a specialization in Business and Financial Modeling from the University of Pennsylvania on Coursera in January 2018, a Fundamental of Engineering (EIT) certification from NCEES in October 2010, and Sitetracker Certification in February 2022.
