Brian Batson, PhD has a diverse work experience in various industries. Brian began their career as a North American Supply Chain Intern at The Lubrizol Corporation, where they developed an optimization model for efficient product shipping. Brian then joined Schlumberger as a Procurement Specialist and was later promoted to Procurement Leader, managing a significant annual material spend. At S&P Global Platts, they worked as a Sr. Analyst, Quantitative Modeling, specializing in power, gas, and crude oil forecasting and risk management models. Additionally, they have worked as a Consultant at the International Monetary Fund. Currently, they hold a position at CoBank as the Director of Enterprise Risk Management.
Brian Batson, PhD, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance and Operations Management from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business, from 2002 to 2007. Brian then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Economics at the Colorado School of Mines from 2009 to 2011. Continuing their education, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from the Colorado School of Mines from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, in 2010, they took a course in Energy Law at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law.
